The Body Shop Born Lippy Satsuma Shimmer

Christmas, snow, the New Year, thick jumpers... Winter's such a beautiful and eventful time, there is so much to love, but also a lot of thing to dislike. Amongst things like the cold, de-icing the car and endless amount of rain, the way the winter affects your skin has to be right at the top of that list. Chapped lips is not something that people want to parade around with. Not only is it painful and uncomfortable, it's not a pretty sight.

Like a lot of people, in the past my first go-to chapped lips product was always Vaseline: the little pot that lasts a life time. But after I kept losing it (seriously, where does it go to?) and found the pot ridiculously hard to get into (sometimes you need Vaselines to actually open it's own pot!), I decided to try something different.

And naturally, I went to the Body Shop.

The reasons being that 1) the scents in that shop are 'to die for', 2) the pots are a lot easier to open and 3) all of 'The Body Shop's' products are animal friendly - which means they're not tested on animals - and vegetarian and planet friendly. I love everything that this brand does and I think that some other beauty brands need to take note.

I know people that can go through pots and pots of lip balms, but for some reason they seem to linger on for ages with me so I decided to just buy the one lip balm. I went for the Satsuma scent as it seem fresh and fruity and doesn't have a 'fake' colour. Coloured lip balm/stick doesn't suite me, but the orange-y colour suits the pale colour of my lips perfectly, as it is light.

Not only does this product smell and look nice, it does the job. When applied to painful, chapped lips it soothes them and keeps them that way for a couple of hours.
